5th October 2017 What's Your Mood Board Hashtag?

If you are taking a professional approach to a new interior project, then a mood board is a great starting point. Mood boards are not just a great excuse to get out the pinking shears, they help you to gradually build up a room and see if the colours and styles really work well together. Decide on a focal piece for your room, e.g. wallpaper or a much loved chair, and build the rest around that.

Are you ready? Which mood board hashtag will you choose?

If you run with the on trend crowd, then you will have heard that green is back and with gold accents. It is a majestic pairing and a very strong colour palette. The look is intentionally luxurious and can be even more eye catching by working in velvety furnishings and burnished textures.

It is a classic colour way that stands the test of time. The unbeatable colour duo works well throughout the house, from kitchen to bedroom and beyond. And the pairing gets even more powerful when given a geometrical twist. Take a look at these fabulous lampshades from Hunkydory Home

Hunkydory Home is a company dedicated to happiness, just as the name suggests. They leave no room for pretentiousness and retail funky and fun lampshades and accessories in a range of great prints.

NB: And if you want to nod to specific styles or eras, add a pop of colour to your monochrome makeover! Choose royal blue for a look which really wows.

This moodboard hashtag sends you in search of elegant chintz and maybe a little tartan. Yet the country vibe does not need to look old fashioned. Take notes from provincial European style and opt for grey woods layered with neutrals.

Castles For Rascals is an online retailer of all things fit for your prince or princess. The company have a wide range of furniture and accessories to create an eye catching interior, like these fabulous Treehouse Bunk Beds. A great centrepiece for the start of your moodboard.

Step Inside Pati’s home, a wonderful array of black walls and eccentric trinkets. Of course the dark and possibly even ominous undertone of the interior won’t suit all tastes, but what about the fabulous Abigail Ahern hallway light! The lack of light during winter months can be depressing, but this glimmering chandelier is guaranteed to brighten even the darkest of December days.

Come on over to Olivia’s place! Olivia’s home shows us how to perfectly warm a neutral palette with the addition of over sized knits and scatter cushions. With a penchant for Scandi design, Olivia’s home is the perfect blend of form and function.

The Topology Interior Design service starts from as little as £95… check it out
