5th September 2017 Scandi Meets Boho For Autumn 2017

Design Trends

New season means brand new interior designs trends and whilst we’ll miss the long Summer days we’re ready for a change of scenery and we’re pretty excited about the latest trends for Autumn/Winter. Once the leaves begin to fall and the nights draw in we tend to naturally hibernate in our homes a bit more, giving us even more of an excuse to make our interiors look good.

Scandinavian influences have been a huge part of interior design for 2017 and this continues into Winter with a hint of Bohemian styling for a warm, cosy feel.

Scandinavians favourite accent colour? It has to be blue! Blending perfectly with white; another signature colour of Scandi styling, these two colours will add depth to your space creating a beautiful aesthetically pleasing look. Teal will work specifically well with autumn colour pallets giving your room a bright, fresh feel whilst also providing a subtle warmth. Teal also works well with rustic wooden furniture another favourite of Scandiniavian design. Accessorise with grey pieces such as throws, cushions and lamps and you have yourself the perfect Scandi look.

Big on organic materials Scandinavian style embodies the back to nature look. Think rustic wooden furniture such as bedside tables, side tables and mirrors. This trend is all about the natural elements being used together to create an outdoors in feel.

Leather may not be the typical Scandinavian inspired choice but this is where our Bohemian influences come in to play. We’re seeing a transition to distressed leather pieces such as storage trunks and leather back armchairs. These items create a rustic appearance and will complement the natural wooden furniture creating the perfect balance, as well as keeping your home relaxed and comfy.

Clash of Boho & Scandi

Picture this; a clash of geometric patterns with stripped back, natural materials. Take elements of Bohemian styling into your Scandi décor to create an eclectic look that is versatile, relaxed and homely.  A great way to do this is with decorative accessories such as candle lanterns, cushions and wall art. Geometric rugs and feathered motifs will also help tie this theme together nicely.

The warming tones of bronze, gold and muted metals will complement the Scandi inspired furniture adding a touch of luxury. When adding Bohemian influences to your Scandi décor you can be as subtle or as statement making as you like; the beauty of these items is that they offer a timeless feel.

Tie it all together and you have a beautiful Scandi inspired setting with elements of Bohemian luxury. Autumn/Winter 2017 we’re ready for you!
