5th July 2017 Are you ready for some crafty home interiors?

You can barely turn a city centre corner without noticing the opening of a new outlet celebrating artisanal talent. Although these are typically food establishments, crafty maker talent is being celebrated across all spectrums… from coffee to cologne and even in the world of interiors…

Yes, there is a burgeoning craft movement. You only need to look at Etsy or Folksy to see the evidence. Small manufacturers are discovering a niche in the market. People hunger for bespoke or personalised products, perhaps in a response to a search for a sense of place. There could also be a desire to create something touchable in a world where virtual reality can appear dominant.

Are you a self confessed purveyor of the unique?

If so, let us help you style your way around the home, with design ideas inspired by exceptional artisan talent.

From the boardroom to the craft room

The founder at Jo Jones Creative, truly had a light bulb moment when she set up a business making handmade lampshades. After leaving her job in HR to raise a family, Jo decided she wanted to swap the boardroom for the craft room permanently.

The idea was born out of Jo’s own frustration to find lampshades she really loved. She recognised that taste is personal and that a one size fits all approach is just not appealing. Jo has a wide range of materials which can be used for lampshades of all shapes and sizes. However if you really want to put your style stamp all over the product, Jo encourages customers to supply their own material!

There are also a selection of ready to go lampshades, utilising luxurious fabrics from Osborne and Little and other similar designers!
